A Bible unlike any I have every studied before!
Review:
Now that I have started reviewing Bibles, I have slowly figured out that I have a problem. There are so many different Bible’s, versions, styles, and types. A Verse Mapping Bible was unlike anything that I had ever heard of. This mainly has to do with the fact that I am just now getting into reviewing different types of Bibles.
When I received this Bible, It could not have come at a more perfect time. I am currently taking a class where all we are doing is studying the Word. It has been an amazing class, where I have learned many things, but I have struggled a bit to understand the meaning. This is mainly because there are many words I struggle to understand. With this Bible, I was able to understand a bit better what the author meant. This Bible helped to show me keywords, and the meaning behind them. I think what I enjoyed most about the keywords was the fact that in part 3, develop, they showed us what the keyword meant in Hebrew and Greek. Then they will tell us what the word means in Hebrew and Greek. I mean how cool is that? I have never seen it in a Bible before. I have seen books about Hebrew and Greek, but having it in a Bible was genius! Good thinking Zondervan!
So as I was saying, this Bible really helped me break down the meaning of many verses. I recently had to write a paper on Exodus, so the use of this method was very helpful for breaking down the meaning behind each verse. I just wish I could have more pages to customize. I had to use another piece of paper to break down some of the verses because this bible has already chosen what verses it wants you to map. Now, this is both a bad and good thing. It’s good because it chose verses that I would have never chosen. See the bad in that is the fact that I felt as though I could not customize my Bible the way I wanted to.
Another thing I love about this bible is the fact that anyone can use this bible. There is no certain age limit. Of course, a 5-year-old would not understand how to use this Bible, but elementary kids all the way to adults could use this Bible to spent time with the Lord. That is amazing. Anyone could use this Bible with no problem. The thing about Study Bible’s is that you tend to get one based on your age. This Verse Mapping Bible is not like that and I love that part.

Overview:
This bible was released on January 26, 2021. The NIV Verse Mapping Bible comes in few different styles. It comes in a gray hardback bible, brown leathersoft, brown leathersoft with bible tabs, navy floral, navy floral with tabs, and a teal girls bible. I choose to let the publisher choose for me the color and type of bible. Honestly, I could not pick between the bible’s because they are all so pretty. There was no way I was going to be able to choose between so many Bibles.
- Choose: Select a verse and write it out.
- Compare: Record this verse in two or three other Bible translations and underline keywords that are the same or different between translations.
- Research: Look up the Hebrew or Greek meaning for the underlined words and record it.
- Consider: Ask questions of the verse. Imagine what it would be like to have experienced what’s happening. Read the verses surrounding this verse and use other study tools to dig even deeper, if you prefer.
- Apply: What is God saying to you? How does this verse relate to your life today?
