Verse Mapping Bible Study Journal

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Verse Mapping changed the way author and Bible study teacher Kristy Cambron forever read and studied the Bible. Along with the Verse Mapping Bible Study Series, where Kristy teaches verse mapping techniques through books of the Bible, the Verse Mapping Journal opens the door to an all-new way to study and read Scripture on your own, following your own inspired study path.

With Verse Mapping 101 instruction, 50 blank maps, suggested verses to map with Topical Map Journeys, and a Destination Tracking chart to see where your maps have taken you and the revelations Scripture has provided over the course of your journaling expedition, the Verse Mapping Journal offers both biblical study technique and the freedom to hear from the Holy Spirit in your study time like no other Bible study tool available.

This Verse mapping Journal involves five steps:

1. Choose: Select a verse and write it out.

2. Compare: Record this verse in two or three other Bible translations and underline keywords that are the same or different between translations.

3. Research: Look up the Hebrew or Greek meaning for the underlined words and record it.

4. Consider: Ask questions of the verse. Imagine what it would be like to have experienced what’s happening. Read the verses surrounding this verse and use other study tools to dig even deeper if you prefer.

5. Apply: What is God saying to you? How does this verse relate to your life today?

When I received my Verse Mapping Bible, one of the things I struggled with was the fact that there were not many empty pages for you to fill out your own verse. Most of the pages had already had verses selected for you. I really struggled with this because I wanted to pick verses that I struggled to under rather than have someone else pick them out for me. It did help because I often want to dive deeper into verses that I already understand.

It was not until I had the time to sit down and spend some time researching this Bible that I discovered that Zondervan also had a journal to go along with the Bible. When I found this out, I was jumping for joy. There was finally extra room for me to continue to dive into each verse of the Bible. Now that I have this journal, I feel as though it will fill up very quickly.

This journal is perfect for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the word and better understand what each verse is trying to tell them. This can be used for a new believer or someone who has been following the Lord for years. It does not matter where you are in your walk with the Lord.

The only thing that I struggled with was the size and bulkiness of the Journal. I never carry a purse so having one more journal to carry around is kind of a hassle. When I tend to do Bible studies I tend to do them in my friend group. This normally means that we tend to meet up somewhere to do our Bible studies. I also do Bible studies with my youth group. In saying this, I have enjoyed this journal so much. I have loved seeing all that it can teach me while I do my Bible studies at home.

I received this journal in exchange for my honest review. My thoughts are my own and are not paid for.
